Great suggestions!!  I think I like Guatemala so much because it is mostly off everyone's radar.  So many  tourist desinations  have become big tourist traps and they don't seem as "traditional" or "cultural" as they had been. Guatemala still has traditional villages with the "village" people dressed in traditional garb.  AND>>>>>> it is so close to the US!  Guatelama also offers beach activites, lake activities, hiking activities, and big city activities...wow!
