Having some business to do just outside Nashville, we decided to spend the weekend....but not downtown. We prefer the West End, so the Loews Vanderbilt was our choice for three nights (no weekend conventions, so we got upgraded to a lovely two room suite on the eleventh floor....that's living in sytle on the top floor).
The Concierge Lounge is a great place to have a light breakfast (eggs benedict one morning) and a cup or two of freshly brewed Starbuck's. Miguel and Joe are our favorite evening hosts in the lounge....they seem to always find our favorite cabernets in the back room.
A stay in the West End is never complete for us, unless we we have a casual dinner at Bound'ryhttp://www.pansouth.net/boundry-map.htm....the tapas are ever changing and always interesting. There's something special about wine and good food at "high tops" in this subtlely lighted environment....nice mix of Vanderbilt cuties and music industry executives.......especially, when you realize there is a real tree growing up through the middle of the place.
On our second night out we decided to try a new place Miro District, just across street from the Bound'ryhttp://www.mirodistrictnashville.com/. This is a great place and not easy to score a table. As usual, we decided to hang at the bar for a couple of glasses of wine and some small plates.
The leaves are just starting to show their colors......
Hey, omegaet, can't believe you were in Nashville and didn't visit me. We could have had a VIP Event. Actually, I have been up here in the Northeast visiting with family and would not have been in Tennessee during the time of your visit. Hope you enjoyed your stay, sounds like you did.
btw, did you eat any GooGoo bars? Do you even know what a GooGoo bar is?
If you are not from around this area, you probably don't know what I'm asking about.
Hey, mountie. Nice idea about a VIP Event in Nashville, but that was not in the cards.
I do happen to know about GooGoo Clusters (I don't think they are called bars).....I've tasted all three varieties (not really my confections of choice....nothing personal against the Standard Candy Company).
I have even purchased and given some to friends and associates after business trips to Nashville.
