omegaet, this does appear to be such a peaceful place. What are the lights hanging from the second floor?
mountie...thanks for answering the question. They are Christmas lights...or, at least they were when originally installed. The owners just decided not to remove them and they have now become part of the decor.
Dear -O- really pleasant musings and writings. Sounds like a perfect place for some down time. Thanks for passing this along...
kind regards
obrienkf....thanks for taking the time to read through my remarks.....it's nice to exit life's super highway now and then and look around.
Keep up your postings....I always find them interesting and informative. j-s-2 - A few of our favorites: Real Food Daily has several locations, we usually visit the one in Santa Monica, but have also been to the newer location in West Hollywood http://www.realfood.com/locations.htm The food is all vegetarian or vegan....very creative and very fresh....very casual dining and interesting frequent diners. Great for a healthy lunch or casual dinner.

omegaet, just the long weekend with a girlfriend friend who recently moved out to Pacific Palisades. I would like to at least make a couple of dining suggestions and treat her, since she is still getting settled in and not plush with finances.
omegaet, we did have dinner at La Botte and my friend was appreciative of my selection and we both enjoyed the meal and service. I guess we were fortunate, we made reservations for an early dinner, arrived about 15 minutes ahead of our appointed time and only had to wait for a few minutes. Thanks for your suggestions.
btw, we stopped by the Hotel Oceana. You might enjoy reading my posting in the thread you started! j-s-2, glad you enjoyed La Botte and managed to avoid a long wait for your meal. Isn't the the Hotel Oceana a fun place (why does everyone focus on the furniture...it happens to be very comfortable)! We found the staff to be exceptional as well. We thought the pool, enclosed patio and fireplace seating area is a great place for some conversation and a glass or two of cabernet sauvignon! p.s....congrats on your VIP status in the community. omegaet, thanks again for your suggestions. I received an email from my friend regarding out lovely dinner at La Botte. She was also impressed with the attention paid to us by the staff at Hotel Oceana, after the mention of luxury link. That says a great deal about the relationship LL has with the property.
