Hi thepiranha,
Glad you liked this photo. It was taken on a hike around the Sella Longo (Langkofel) from Ortisei/St. Ulrich in the Dolomites, (former South Tirol), in Northern Italy. The scenery was truly spectacular. What a wonderful area to hike in.
Kind Regards,
ReadytoGo

Hi thepiranha and jsattpr2,
To satisfy your curiosity, this picture was taken in the Grand Paradisio National Park while staying at the Hotel Bellevue in Cogne, Italy. The Grand Paradisio National Park is a natural refuge for Ibexes and Mountain goats and we saw lots and lots of them on our various hikes.
Some of the combats we observed were truly spectacular.
Kind regards,
ReadytoGo

Hi jsattapr2,
Handheld is the answer with engaged stabilizer. You should see the Eiffeltower now. Since France is head of the European Union at the moment, the Eiffeltower is dressed in blue and features the 12 stars of the original EU members. To combat the financial and environmental crisis, the Eiffeltower now sparkels for 5 minutes only instead of the earlier 10 minutes every hour on the hour, but it is still a site to behold.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3060/2630667888_2ded8ab911_o.jpg

jsattapr2, since you have focused on Paris for your photo entries, you must know it well. I just wonder if this shot of the Seine is taken from the Passerelle Leopold-Sedar-Senghor? I am guessing it was taken from the upper level rather than the quay level.

I have crossed that bridge many times during the winter and it can be a long cold haul from one side to the other. I can feel the chill when I look at this photo.

Very "artsy" and certainly makes the point of a cold Paris day!

Thanks to each of you for your comments. I really prefer to shot in B & W, although I do use color now and then (as you may have noticed in one of my other entries). For me, B & W gives my work a retro feel and I hope can also draw the viewers eye to the line and key elements I am trying to capture.
